Biography
BOJANA PJANOVIĆ completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Geography in the Spatial Planning programme in 2013 and her master’s degree in Spatial Planning in 2014. The final thesis and the master’s thesis were honoured with the Faculty of Geography prize for the best final/master’s thesis in the Spatial Planning study group. She defended her PhD thesis entitled: “The Application of Scenario Method in Local Spatial Planning in Serbia” on 15 May 2023 at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade. The dissertation was awarded the “Dimitrije Perišić” prize for the best dissertation in the field of spatial planning by the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of Serbia. In 2024, she was elected Assistant Professor at the Department of Spatial Planning at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Geography. She is involved in teaching in the study programs Spatial Planning and Geospatial and Environmental Studies. So far, she has participated in several conferences and scientific meetings in Serbia and abroad, which has resulted in more than 25 published papers. She is a member of the Chamber of Engineers of Serbia, the Association of Spatial Planners of Serbia and the Serbian Geographical Society. From 2024 she is the national representative of Serbia in the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP). In her scientific and research work, she focuses mainly on research, application and improvement of methods in spatial planning, scenarios, new technologies, but also on the study of land use planning at the local level in relation to the specific (institutional, social and economic) context of space.
