Biography

Date and place of birth: 25.05.1985. Kruševac, Serbia

PhD Marija Belij Radin is Assistant professor at University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography, Serbia (field of research Tourism studies). She has published more than 50 papers in national and international scientific journals. Since the 2018 she has a function of Head of the Department of Tourism, University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography.

Education:

2010-2016 – PhD in Geosciences (Tourism) – University of Belgrade, Faculty of Geography; Thesis: Transformation of spas in Serbia into modern centers of spa and wellness tourism

2008-2009 – M.Sc. in Tourism – University of Belgrade, Faculty of Geography; Thesis: Spas and recreation centers – form of adjustment of spa tourism of Serbia to the modern market demand

 

2004-2008 – B.Sc. in Geography – University of Belgrade, Faculty of Geography, Thesis: Positioning of Ribarska Spa in spa tourism of Serbia

Marija Belij Radin is the researcher of project of national importance: Problems and development tendencies geospatial system of the Republic of Serbia. Also she was participating in bilateral project Integrated Approach to Tourism Development in Protected Areas – Experiences of Serbia and Slovenia that was implemented between University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography and Univerza na Primorskem Fakulteta za turistične študije Portorož ­ Turistica (2014-2015). In 2018 she was a member of the Faculty of Geography’s working team for creating the Visitor management plan of the Đerdap National Park.

She participated in the organization of the International Conference „Cultural Corridor Via Diagonalis – Cultural Tourism Without Boundaries” (2013), she was also a member of the organizing committee of the Scientific conference with international participation “Geographic Education, Science and Practice: Development, Status and Perspectives” (2013); 4th SERBIAN CONGRESS OF GEOGRAPHERS “Achievements, current topics and challenges of geographical science and practice” (2015). She was a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Scientific Conference – Future Tourism conference “Digital transformation in tourism“ (2019) and “Challenges of tourism and business logistics in the 21st century” (2020).

  • Scholarship from Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Development for PhD students (2010/11).
