Biography
Ljubica Duškov was born in Valjevo on 16 October 1988, where she completed her primary education and graduated from Valjevska Gimnazija. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s academic studies in Spatial Planning at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography. In 2024, she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Development of an Integrated Spatial Planning Approach as an Adaptation to Climate Change in Serbia,” thereby obtaining the academic title of Doctor of Geosciences. She received the “Dimitrije Perišić” Awards for the best Master’s thesis (2013) and the best doctoral dissertation (2024) in the field of spatial planning, awarded by the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia.
Since 2013, she has been employed at the Faculty of Geography as a research assistant on Project No. 176008, “Development Programmes for the Revitalisation of Rural Areas in Serbia”. She was appointed Assistant Professor in 2017, Assistant Professor with a PhD in 2024, and since 2026 she has held the academic rank of Associate Professor in the field of Spatial Planning. Throughout her scientific and research career, she has focused primarily on environmental protection in spatial planning and on adaptation to climate change. She has participated in numerous international and scientific-professional conferences, and has also delivered a guest lecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka. To date, she has contributed to the preparation of six spatial plans, as well as several studies and projects in the field of environmental protection. She has been a member of the Council of the Faculty of Geography since 2022.
