Summer School “Rivers and Routes: Rethinking and Enhancing Belgrade’s Blue-Green Infrastructure”

The University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography and the University of Ljubljana – Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, within the CEEPUS network PLANNED – Spatial PLANNing EDucation Network (SI-2022-01-2526), are organising the international PLANNED  Summer School 25/26 – Rivers and Routes: Rethinking and Enhancing Belgrade’s Blue-Green Infrastructure, which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 30 August to 6 September 2026.

The summer school is intended for bachelor’s and master’s students in spatial and urban planning, geography, civil engineering, transport planning, landscape architecture, environmental studies, regional planning, architecture and other related disciplines.

Through lectures, fieldwork, group work, mentoring sessions and final presentations, students will explore Belgrade’s riverfront areas, blue-green infrastructure, public spaces and active mobility corridors. Special attention will be given to the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade’s riverfront transformation, walking and cycling connections, and the potential for improving climate resilience and public space quality.

The programme will be held in English. Students who successfully complete all planned summer school activities will be awarded 3 ECTS credits and will receive an official certificate of attendance.
