Циљ предмета
Through the implementation of all the teaching content of the Sustainable Tourism course, it is planned to achieve cognitive goals (knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation) which are in the function of enabling students to acquire fundamental and practical knowledge necessary for the application of the concept of sustainable development in tourism. By acquiring complex knowledge about the principles, elements and challenges of this concept, students will adopt the basic guidelines for planning sustainable tourism in a certain area.
Исход предмета
By mastering the teaching content of the course Sustainable Tourism, students will be able to:
– assessment of the impact of modern trends in the development of tourism on tourist destinations (preserving cultural heritage, socioeconomic development, quality of the environment);
– choose adequate instruments for the application of the concept of sustainable development in specific destinations (national parks and other protected natural resources), which will affirm the applicative nature of the knowledge acquired by attending this course
– propose adequate guidelines for the management of tourist destinations.

Sustainable development of tourism (origin, definition, principles and future challenges). The impact of tourism on the environment and challenges for sustainable tourism development. Codes of ethics and impact on the local community. Planning and organization of sustainable tourism. Nature protection and tourism. Overtourism – case studies.Sustainable forms of tourism (Ecotourism, Geotourism and Adventure forms of tourism) – a paradigm of sustainable tourism. Certification and monitoring of sustainable tourism. The future of sustainable tourism.Presentation of student papers.
