Циљ предмета
Acquisition of knowledge about the connections and relationships between political-geographical elements of the social system and efforts to achieve ecological justice. Train students to evaluate and think critically about contemporary political-geographical concepts of social systems management and the process of building ecological consciousness. Educate students in creating simulations and models of the new world order and the political-geographical position of Serbia from the perspective of contemporary ecological values. Understanding the basic directions of shaping policies in the field of ecology, their regional differences as well as environmental activism, discrimination and conflicts.
Исход предмета
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1. analyze the relationship between the political-geographical elements of the state and the ecological components of modern society; 2. evaluate the influence of modern theoretical concepts and models on the process of achieving environmental justice; 3. evaluate the impact of political-geographical factors on the ecological situation of Serbia; 4. apply the acquired knowledge in practical work.

1-2). POLITICAL-GEOGRAPHIC THEORIES AND CONCEPTS ON THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIETY. Sources of political-geographical ideas. Methodological models of political geography in the creation and development of environmental awareness; 3-5). POLITICAL-GEOGRAPHIC STRUCTURE OF MODERN SOCIETY. Basics for the geographical theory of the modern state and sustainable development. Space and power of the state. 6-8). STATE TYPES ACCORDING TO THE FORM OF SOCIAL-POLITICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION. Formation of the global social system. Subjects of the New World Order and sustainable global development. Determinants of Serbia’s ecological position. Political-geographical and ecological processes important for Serbia. 8-9) POLICIES IN THE FIELD OF ECOLOGY. Global and local level. Differences between Global North and Global South. 10-12) ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM. Environmental activism and discursive conflicts. Environmental movements and their scope. 13-15) ENVIRONMENTAL DISCRIMINATION. Conflicts based on environmental discrimination. Endangerment of the environment and the resulting inequalities.
Practical learning
Independent research paper on the topic: Basic components of the process of globalization and ecological inequality in the world (on the example of a specific area).
