Циљ предмета
The aim of the course is to provide students with an understand of the impact of various crises (primarily those caused by socio-political turmoil, armed conflict or environmental change) on the diversity of migratory flows and the emergence of different categories of migrants in the world. The lectures will provide students with the following knowledge: knowledge required to map, understand and analyse crisis areas in the world; knowledge of the causal relationship between crisis areas in the world and the spatial mobility of populations;the ability to apply and transfer this knowledge in the development of the project task. The focus of the course is on presenting and analysing modern mechanisms of managing forced migration under crisis conditions and the challenges that this type of migration poses to modern societies.
Исход предмета
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to distinguish between modern forms of international migration caused by different crisis situations; to recognize and understand crisis hotspots in the world, to comparatively analyze different migration flows (from the countries of origin, transit countries to the destination countries);carry out a comparative analysis of the intensity of the different migration flows and the success of the concrete management mechanisms applied to each of them; comment on the importance of the security aspect of migration for the country of origin, the transit country and the final destination country;explain in their own words the impact of crises on the phenomenon of international and internal migration and the current trends of transformation of the modern world; relate the main crisis events in the world to the types of migration movements; assess the significance of forced migration for the functioning of the international system; develop critical thinking and new perspectives on crisis-induced migration in the future.
