Циљ предмета

The aim of the course is for students to acquire knowledge of the complex issue of waste management, i.e. to familiarize themselves with the basic principles of waste collection, transport, recycling, treatment and disposal. Mastering the methods for drawing up regional and local waste management plans. Train students in determining the locations of landfills and transfer stations. The course will include visits to facilities and the recycling yard to familiarize themselves with the practice and operation of the system.

Исход предмета

The student’s ability to recognize, find and apply the most appropriate method of waste management. The student is able to analyze, evaluate and determine the most favorable location for waste disposal or recycling. Using appropriate methods of organization, informatics, planning, management and control, the student rationalizes the resources necessary for the management of municipal and special waste streams.
The student will learn how the waste collection and transportation system works in practice, i.e. waste separation at the recycling center or landfill. They will become familiar with the legal, institutional and organizational framework of waste management.
