Циљ предмета

Developing awareness of the importance of GIS application in the field of sustainable development. Acquiring GIS knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the goals of sustainable development. Training for the application of GIS in decision-making in the field of sustainable development.

Исход предмета

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: apply GIS when choosing a location for the construction of objects depending on their impact on the environment; assess the state and threat of geo- and biodiversity based on geospatial data; determine the vulnerability of a certain territory to natural disasters and technological risks based on geospatial data; analyze air, water and soil pollution based on available data; spatially and temporally analyze and model indicators of sustainable development and the achieved level of sustainable development of a certain spatial entity.

1. Acquaintance with the issues of the subject and with the student’s obligations; Getting to know the possibilities and importance of GIS application in the field of sustainable development; 2. Spatial and network analyses; Creating queries; Map algebra; 3. Three-dimensional modeling; Spatial-temporal (4D) modeling;
4. Modeling of geospatial processes; Modeling of the Earth’s surface; 5. First colloquium; 6. Spatial decision support systems (SDSS) in the field of sustainable development; Multi-criteria decision-making analysis (MCDA) in the field of sustainable development; 7. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP); Application of fuzzy logic in the field of sustainable development; 8. Application of GIS in choosing the optimal location for the construction of buildings depending on the impact on the environment. 9. Application of GIS in choosing the optimal location for the construction of solar power plants and wind generators. 10. Application of GIS in the analysis of the state and threat of geo- and biodiversity. 11. Application of GIS in the analysis of vulnerability to natural disasters and technological risks. 12. Application of GIS in the analysis of environmental pollution by harmful substances and energies; Application of GIS in the analysis of air, water and soil pollution.
13. Application of GIS in the analysis and modeling of sustainable development indicators; Analysis of the achieved level of sustainable development 14. Second colloquium. 15. Defense of the seminar paper.
