Циљ предмета

The realisation of the Conservation Ecology and Society programme aims to achieve cognitive objectives in terms of knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation that will enable students to apply basic ecological knowledge and principles to the solution of specific problems that explain the causes of degradation of ecosystems, habitats and species (or their populations). At the same time, this programme enables the development of knowledge, applications, etc. that are consistent with many contemporary approaches to the management of ecosystems, habitats and species. By understanding ecological, economic and social aspects of sustainable development, students acquire the ability to appropriately recognize and apply in practice potentials, challenges and conflicts at different scales, from local to global. Students acquire knowledge of the ecological- social effects of today’s globalization and the implementation of neoliberal principles.

Исход предмета

Upon completion of the Conservation Ecology and Society programme, students will be able to:
-analyze ecological, economic and social factors affecting the conservation and degradation of various ecosystems,
-assess the validity of applying selected measures to manage ecosystem diversity at all spatial scales, taking into account the limitations of the social context,
-plan appropriate measures to manage the complex process of protecting ecosystems and organic species populations under the conditions of neoliberal social reality,
-apply knowledge aimed at the revitalization of ecosystems and organic species populations as a resource for ecosystem services and one of the cornerstones of social capital development.
