Циљ предмета
Ensuring environmental safety is among the global strategic tasks. This problem is related to the rapidly aggravating threats caused by increasing population growth on Earth, diminishing life-supporting resources, technogenesis, global climate change, and escalating natural disasters. Therefore, the subject goal is to empower students with a comprehensive understanding of environmental safety within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fostering the knowledge and skills necessary to address contemporary environmental challenges, promote resilience, and contribute to the global pursuit of a sustainable and secure future.
Исход предмета
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to: 1) exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the crucial role of environmental safety within the broader framework of sustainable development; 2) apply advanced geospatial research techniques to analyze and assess environmental safety, utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping, modeling, and interpreting spatial data; 3) Integrate interdisciplinary perspectives by synthesizing knowledge from geospatial research, environmental science, and sustainable development to address complex challenges related to environmental safety; 4) conduct critical analyses of various environmental hazards, identifying their origins, impacts, and implications for safety and sustainability; 5) identify and evaluate environmental safety „hotspots“ through spatial analysis, demonstrating the ability to pinpoint areas at higher risk and propose targeted mitigation and adaptation measures; 6) understand the policy implications of environmental safety within the SDGs context, demonstrating an awareness of how geospatial research findings can inform and contribute to effective environmental safety policies and 7) effectively communicate geospatial research findings related to environmental safety through well-structured written reports and articulate presentations, adapting communication styles to diverse audiences.
